Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Collision Involving Two E-Bikes in Kitchener

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating a collision involving two e-bikes in Kitchener.

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Manitou Drive.

Through investigation, it was determined that a 22-year-old Kitchener man was operating an e-bike westbound in the eastbound bike lane. At the same time, a 50-year-old Kitchener man was riding an e-bike westbound in the proper lane when he was struck by the oncoming e-bike.

Both riders were transported to a hospital outside the region with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Manitou Drive was closed for approximately one hour between Wabanaki Drive and Sasada Drive while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
