Four Arrested Following Dangerous Driving and Collision with Police Vehicles in Waterloo Region
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested four individuals following a dangerous driving incident that resulted in multiple police vehicles being struck.
On August 30, 2025, police responded to a driving complaint on Highway 8 involving a white Volkswagen hatchback with no license plates. It was reported that the vehicle prevented another driver from exiting the highway and continued to follow them throughout the region.
The Volkswagen was observed running a red light and driving the wrong way on an on-ramp near King Street East. When directed to stop by police, the driver fled, eventually colliding head-on with a police cruiser and striking two additional police vehicles.
Two Waterloo Regional Police Service officers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver, an 18-year-old male, along with three passengers – two 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old male – were arrested at the scene.
All four individuals are being held for bail hearings and are jointly charged with:
