Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault that occurred in the area of Victoria Park in Kitchener.

On July 31, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a 42-year-old male who was assaulted and left unconscious in the park.

The male was transported to a local hospital with serious physical injuries.

Through the investigation, police have arrested and charged a 35-year-old male for aggravated assault and was held in police custody for a bail hearing

Investigating officers believe the attack was targeted and have no public safety concerns.
