Police Arrest Hamilton Male After Responding to Waterloo Home Invasion

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a home invasion in Waterloo.

On September 21, 2025, at approximately 2:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a home invasion in the area of Stillmeadow Circle and Beechlawn Drive.

Through the investigation, it was determined that three unknown masked males gained entry to a residence and assaulted the homeowner with a hammer and bear spray. The suspects then fled the area.

During the search for the suspects, a police service dog (PSD) located one of the suspects and officers arrested the male.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old Hamilton male has been charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm

  • Disguise with intent

  • Break and enter

  • Assault with a weapon

     

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing by members of WRPS’ Robbery Unit.  

Investigators are asking residents in the area to check their security camera on September 21st, 2025, between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30a.m. for any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity.
