Police Continue to Investigate a Serious Collision in North Dumfries Township
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police Service has laid charges following a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred in North Dumfries Township.
On October 6, 2025, emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision on Clyde Road near Clydebank Drive. The driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a hydro pole. The driver, a 15-year-old female from Cambridge, and three passengers, all under the age of 16, were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
On October 30, 2025, the 15-year-old female was charged in connection to the collision. She was determined to be the driver and has been charged with:
- Three counts of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm under the Criminal Code of Canada
- Driving Without a Licence
- Speeding – 176 km/h in a 50 km/h Community Safety Zone
- Two counts of Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act
Three of the youths have since been released from hospital, and one youth remains in an out-of-region hospital.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit are investigating a serious collision in North Dumfries Township.
On October 6, 2025, at approximately 12:35 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a single motor vehicle collision on Clyde Road near Clydebank Drive.
Through the initial investigation, it was determined that the driver lost control, left the roadway, and struck a hydro pole.
The driver, a 15-year-old female from Cambridge, and three passengers, all youths under the age of 16, were transported by ambulance to hospitals with serious injuries.
The intersection remains closed for the investigation and hydro repairs.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit.
