Police Arrest Wanted Male after Robbery in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following a robbery in Waterloo.
On October 28, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., police received a report of a robbery in the area of University Avenue West and Phillip Street.
The suspect entered a business, selected merchandise, and exited without attempting to pay. When confronted by an employee, the suspect assaulted them and fled the area. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Officers responded quickly and located the suspect nearby. During the arrest, the individual resisted officers and provided a false name. Police later confirmed the suspect’s identity and discovered that he was wanted on outstanding warrants for breach of probation and possession of a prohibited weapon.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Waterloo male was charged with the following offences:
- Robbery
- Resist Arrest
- Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
