Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male Following Impaired Driving Investigation in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following an impaired driving incident in Kitchener.
On October 30, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Ottawa Street North and Weber Street East.
Officers located a 31-year-old male in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle with open containers of alcohol within reach. During the investigation, the male attempted to flee, reversing into a police cruiser and driving over a curb before being safely taken into custody. No physical injuries were reported.
The male was charged with several offences, including:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
- Dangerous operation
- Assault with a weapon
- Assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist
- Multiple offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
