Charges Laid in Hate-Motivated Incidents in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police Service has laid charges in connection to a hate-motivated incident that occurred in the City of Cambridge.
On September 30, 2025, police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Wellington Street and Dundas Street North. A group of female youths were walking in the area when they were approached by an unknown female. A verbal altercation occurred, during which the female began yelling racial comments toward the group. The suspect left the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
Later that evening, police would later receive reports of an unknown female disturbing a place of worship while its members were inside. The female used racial comments towards the members and left prior to police arrival.
The investigations was conducted by members of the South Division Neighbourhood Patrol, General Investigations Unit, and the Hate Crime Unit.
On November 4, 2025, a 53-year-old female was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Two counts of Cause Disturbance
- One count of Mischief – Interfere with Lawful Enjoyment of Property
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
