Police Investigating after Gunshots Fired in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a youth in connection to a shooting incident in Kitchener.
On June 5, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Monte Carlo Street and Victoria Street South.
Through investigation, officers determined that a group of youths were outside a residential complex when they were approached by a male suspect who fired multiple gunshots.
No physical injuries were sustained.
On June 7, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., WRPS’ General Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and Patrol officers, completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Strasburg Road and Kingswood Drive and arrested a male youth.
The male, a 13-year-old from Kitchener, has been charged with multiple firearms-related offences, including:
- Point Firearm (two counts)
- Discharge Firearm with Intent – endanger life
- Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Firearm or Weapon – Possession Contrary to a Prohibitions Order
- Failure to Comply with Sentence or Disposition (two counts)
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
