UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in a homicide investigation.

On November 17, 2025, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Highland Road West and Patricia Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located a 44-year-old Kitchener female deceased. 

The accused, a 40-year-old Kitchener female has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

The accused is being held for a bail hearing and will attend court on November 18, 2025. 

Investigators believe the involved individuals are known to each other.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a deceased individual was located in Kitchener. 

On November 17, 2025, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Highland Road West and Patricia Avenue for a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased individual. A female was taken into custody at the scene.

Investigators believe the involved individuals are known to each other.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the WRPS’ Major Crime Unit, Special Victims Unit, and the Forensic Identification Unit. 

There will be an increased police presence in the area as officers conduct a canvass for witnesses and gather additional information.
