Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Vehicle Theft in Kitchener

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft (BEVT) Team are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from a residence in Kitchener.

On November 20, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., a Lexus SUV was stolen from a driveway in the area of Yellow Birch Drive and Trussler Road.

The investigation remains ongoing.

To help prevent vehicle thefts, WRPS encourages residents to consider the following measures:

  • Block access to the onboard diagnostic port to prevent thieves from reprogramming the vehicle’s key fob.
  • Use a steering wheel locking device.
  • Place key fobs in a radio-frequency shielding pouch when not in use.
  • Consider installing an after-market GPS tracker.
  • Ensure all keys are accounted for and never left in the vehicle or unattended.
  • Report suspicious activity immediately.
