UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Robbery Team has taken carriage of the investigation into a commercial robbery that occurred in Kitchener.

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the area of Hazelglen Drive after receiving a report of a robbery. An individual entered a nearby store while brandishing a knife and stole cash from the register before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

On December 10, 2025, investigators collected video from the business and began canvassing the area. 

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately six feet tall, wearing grey sweatpants, a black zip-up hoodie, a dark red and black knee-length plaid jacket or housecoat, blue medical gloves, and a white medical mask. 

The suspect brandished a silver kitchen knife during the robbery and placed stolen property into a red reusable grocery bag. The suspect was last seen on foot on Hazelglen Drive toward Victoria Street South.

The suspect remains outstanding. The investigation is ongoing.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a commercial robbery that occurred in the City of Kitchener.

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the area of Hazelglen Drive after receiving a report of a robbery. An individual entered a nearby business while brandishing a knife and stole cash before fleeing on foot prior to police arrival. 

There were no physical injuries reported.
