Police Arrest Male After Hate- Motivated Incident at Kitchener Place of Worship
Waterloo Regional Police has arrested a Kitchener male after a hate-motivated incident in Kitchener.
On May 2, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to reports of a disturbance at a place of worship in the area of Franklin Street South.
Upon arrival, police learned that an unknown male attempted to enter the place of worship while yelling racial slurs towards individuals and assaulted them. Officers arrested the male.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault (two counts)
- Cause a disturbance
The male was held for a bail hearing.
