Police Seize Loaded Gun and Drugs after Investigation in Kitchener
Officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Neighbourhood Policing North Division have seized a loaded handgun and drugs after an investigation in Kitchener.
On April 28, 2025, at approximately 3:35 a.m., officers on proactive patrol located a parked vehicle with two occupants in the area of Lancaster Street West and Wellington Street North.
Through investigation, officers determined the male in the driver’s seat was breaching a term of his release order and officers arrested him. The female passenger was arrested for possessions of drugs.
Officers located and seized suspected cocaine, hydromorphone and a loaded handgun.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old male and a 26-year-old female were charged with:
- Possession of suspected cocaine
- Possession of hydromorphone
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
The 35-year-old male was also charged with:
- Possession contrary to order
- Failure to comply with probation order
- Failure to comply with judicial release order (two counts)
Both accused were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
