The Waterloo Regional Police Service Board (WRPSB) is pleased to announce the re-election of Ian McLean as Chair of the Police Service Board and Karen Redman as Vice Chair.

Mr. McLean and Ms. Redman were re-elected to their roles during the Police Service Board meeting on January 21, 2026.

Mr. McLean has served on the Police Service Board since April 2020 and has served as Chair since being elected in January 2024. 

Regional Chair Redman served as the Police Service Board Chair between 2019 and 2024 and was elected as Vice-Chair in January 2024. Ms. Redman is the current Regional Chair of Waterloo Region, having first been elected in 2018 and re-elected in October 2022. 

The Waterloo Regional Police Service Board is a civilian oversight body that governs the Waterloo Regional Police Service. Under the provisions of the Community Safety and Policing Act, the Board is responsible for the provision of adequate and effective police services for the residents of the Region of Waterloo.
