Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a homicide in the City of Kitchener.

On January 23, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Garden Path Place and Countrystone Crescent. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male deceased inside a residence.

During the investigation, officers identified and located a suspect in the area of Ardelt Avenue in Kitchener. 

A 26-year-old Kitchener male has been taken into custody. Investigators believe the individuals involved are known to one another.

WRPS’ Major Crime Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.

There will be an increased police presence in the area as officers canvass for witnesses and gather additional information.
