Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male Following Robbery in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following a robbery in Kitchener.
On February 24, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a male victim was assaulted and robbed in the area of Joseph Street and Queen Street South. The victim, a 52-year-old Kitchener male, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers located and arrested a male a short distance away and seized a knife and an imitation firearm. Drugs, including suspected cocaine and MDMA, were also seized.
The male, a 38-year-old from Kitchener, was charged with several offences, including:
Aggravated Assault
Assault With a Weapon (two counts)
Robbery With a Firearm
Use of Imitation Firearm in Commission of an Offence
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
Disobeying Court Order (two counts)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance (two counts)
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
