WRPS Seize Drugs and Weapons Following a Vehicle Stop
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two individuals following a vehicle stop in Kitchener.
On March 1, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service were performing proactive patrols in the area of Ardelt Avenue and Hansen Avenue when officers conducted a vehicle stop involving a suspected suspended driver.
The investigation led to the arrest of both occupants, a 41-year-old Kitchener male and a 37-year-old Kitchener female. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and prescription medication. Officers also located several weapons, including a knife, pepper spray, a modified baseball bat, and a restricted firearm.

Both individuals are facing several charges, including:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Its Possession
- Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle
- Disobeying Order of Court
- Driving While Under Suspension
- Possession of an Identity Document
Both accused parties were held for a bail hearing.
