Police Charge Three Males after Trespassing on Construction Crane in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have charged three males after responding to a trespassing incident at a construction site in Kitchener.
On March 29, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., police received a report that three males had climbed onto the top beam of a tower crane at a construction site located on King Street East near Ottawa Street South.
Officers arrived within minutes and observed the individuals on the crane. The males then entered the 32-story building through an opening on an upper floor. After conducting a search of the high‑rise under construction, officers located the three males at approximately 4:40 p.m. hiding inside a portable toilet on the 22nd floor.
The three males, a 20-year-old from St. Catharines, a 20-year-old from Waterdown, and a 16-year-old from Hamilton, were arrested and charged with trespassing – enter premise where entry prohibited, under the Trespass to Property Act.
