Waterloo Regional Police Charge Kitchener Male in Child Exploitation Investigation
In September 2025, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime – Internet Child Exploitation Unit initiated an investigation involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
As a result of this ongoing investigation, on April 1, 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Cybercrime Branch – Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 27-year-old Kitchener male.
The accused has been charged with four counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material and three counts of Making Available Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service remains committed to protecting children from online exploitation. WRPS is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet, a partnership made possible through funding from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
