Waterloo Regional Police Investigating a Fatal Collision in Kitchener

On April 3, 2026, emergency services responded to a collision involving a GMC pickup truck and an e-bike at the intersection of Lancaster Street and Guelph Street in Kitchener. 

The 44-year-old e-bike operator was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with Careless Driving Causing Death and Turn Not in Safety.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Services Unit are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision in Kitchener.

On April 3, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a GMC pickup truck and an e‑bike at the intersection of Lancaster Street and Guelph Street.

The driver of the e‑bike, a 44‑year‑old Kitchener male, was transported by paramedics to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the GMC pickup truck, a 38‑year‑old Kitchener male, did not sustain any physical injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while police conducted the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
