Waterloo Regional Police Investigating a Hate-Motivated Assault in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a hate-motivated assault that occurred in Waterloo.
On April 5, 2026, at approximately 2:35 a.m., police responded to a disturbance call at a business in the area of King Street North and Columbia Street East.
The investigation determined that a verbal altercation occurred between the victim and a group of approximately six unknown males. The altercation escalated, and the group assaulted the victim before fleeing the area prior to police arrival.
Police have determined the incident to be hate-motivated.
The suspects fled the area in two vehicles described as a black Acura SUV and a white Honda Civic.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
