WRPS' Human Trafficking Team Arrests Three Males After a Year Long Investigation
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a report of human trafficking that occurred in Waterloo Region in April 2024.
The investigation began after reports were received regarding the alleged human trafficking of adult females.
On February 20, 2025, police arrested Rommel Hinds-Grannum, known as “Nov,” and Robert Hinds-Grannum, known as “Chase,” both 36-years-old. They have been charged with the following:
- Human Trafficking
- Receiving Material Benefit
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Exercise Control, Direction or Influence
- Advertise Sexual Services
- Money Laundering
- Utter Death Threats

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police at 519-570-9777, extension 8366.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have charged three males involved in a human trafficking investigation.
In April 2024, officers began an investigation into the human trafficking of adult females in the Waterloo Region.
As a result of the investigation, members of WRPS’ Human Trafficking Unit have arrested two 36-year-old males and a 50-year-old male with multiple offences, including:
- Human Trafficking
- Receiving Material Benefit
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Exercise Control, Direction or Influence
- Advertise Sexual Services
- Money Laundering
- Utter Death Threats
The three accused were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
