Waterloo Regional Police Service Recognized as One of Southwestern Ontario’s Top Employers and Waterloo Area’s Top Employers for 2026
The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is proud to announce it has been recognized as one of Southwestern Ontario’s Top Employers and one of Waterloo Area’s Top Employers for 2026 for the second year in a row.
These recognitions highlight the Service’s continued commitment to fostering an exceptional and supportive workplace for its members.
As the seventh-largest police service in Ontario, WRPS employs nearly 1,400 members who serve the municipalities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, as well as the Townships of Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich, and North Dumfries.
“This recognition celebrates the dedication and passion our members bring every day, ensuring Waterloo Region remains a place where people not only are safe, but truly feel safe,” said Mark Crowell, Chief of Police. “It also reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting our members, strengthening our workplace culture, and continuously evolving as an employer of choice.”
WRPS has once again been selected for its long-standing dedication to community engagement, emphasis on member mental health and wellbeing, flexible work options and competitive benefits, and strong support of local charitable initiatives.
Launched by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Southwestern Ontario’s Top Employers acknowledges outstanding employers across the region between Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, and Lake Erie, excluding the Greater Toronto Area and Niagara. Waterloo Area’s Top Employers is an annual competition that recognizes organizations that lead the way in providing progressive and supportive workplace environments.
