On April 15, 2026, at approximately 9 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police Service officers responded to the area of Thaler Avenue in the Kitchener following reports of a vehicle that was actively on fire.

Through the investigation, police learned that a male was observed leaving the area on foot after setting the vehicle on fire. The identity of the male is currently unknown.

Police have confirmed that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
