Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Robbery at Retail Store in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in connection to a robbery in Kitchener.
On April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person‑on‑person robbery at a retail store in the area of Highland Road West and Queens Boulevard in Kitchener.
On May 21, 2026, officers from North Division arrested and charged a male in connection to this incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with assault with a weapon, robbery with violence, mischief under $5,000, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person‑on‑person robbery at a retail store in the area of Highland Road West and Queens Boulevard in Kitchener.
During the incident, the victim was assaulted with a weapon and sustained non‑life‑threatening physical injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a Black male, believed to be in his 20s to 30s, with stubble and dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing all black clothing, black rubber boots, and a green sweater underneath a jacket and was carrying a black backpack.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam or surveillance footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
