Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Suspicious Incident Involving Child in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a report of a suspicious person involving a child in Kitchener.
On April 27, 2026, between approximately 3 and 4 p.m., a 10-year-old girl was riding a scooter in the area of Pioneer Drive and Bechtel Drive. A male approached the child from behind and made physical contact with her.
The child was able to leave the area and attended the Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre, where police were contacted.
Officers responded and conducted an area search; however, the male was not located.
The involved individual is described as a Black male, approximately 50 to 60 years old, mostly bald, wearing a brown jacket, a black shirt, and jeans.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have security footage or dash camera video from the area around the time of the incident to contact investigators.
