WRPS' Direct Action Response Team Arrest Two After a Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) and South Patrol have laid charges in connection to a stolen vehicle in Cambridge.

On March 2, 2025, police began an investigation in regards to a stolen motor vehicle. Police continued to identify and search for two males who were involved in the incident.

On March 4, 2025, in relation to an ongoing investigation into scrap metal thefts in the City of Cambridge, DART officers attended a scrap metal yard and located the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was in the possession of a 46-year-old male, as well as a 38-year-old male who were both arrested.  

As a result of the investigation, both males from Cambridge were charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 and Possession of Break-in Instruments.

Both males were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
