Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male Following Robbery in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male following a weapons incident in Waterloo.
On May 2, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to reports a male brandishing a firearm at a drive thru restaurant located on Erb Street West.
The investigation determined that suspect approached a driver of a vehicle while brandishing a firearm and demanded the driver exit their vehicle, before fleeing the area.
Officers located the male nearby and arrested him. During the arrest, officers recovered a firearm which was confirmed to be a replica.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male has been charged with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Point firearm
- Robbery with a firearm
- Attempt theft of a motor vehicle
- Carry conceal weapon
- Using firearm in the commission of an offence
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident.
