Waterloo Regional Police Charge Kitchener Male in Human Trafficking Investigation
In April 2026, following an eight‑month investigation, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Human Trafficking Unit arrested and charged a 35‑year‑old Kitchener male, Tyson Vanderpool.

As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with multiple criminal offences, including:
- Human Trafficking
- Procuring and Exercising Control
- Direction or Influence
- Advertising Sexual Services
- Receiving a Material Benefit
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
