Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Fail to Stop Incident in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a fail to stop incident in Kitchener.

On May 11, 2026, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a WRPS Traffic Traffic Services officer was conducting traffic enforcement on foot in the area of King Street East and Sportsworld Drive. The officer briefly spoke with the driver of a pickup truck regarding a tinted windshield and detected an odour of cannabis coming from the vehicle.

When the officer directed the driver to pull over to the side of the road to continue an equipment and possible impaired driving investigation, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed eastbound on King Street East toward Highway 401.

The vehicle is described as a white 1994–2001 Dodge Ram 3500 extended‑cab dually with tinted windows, including a tinted front windshield. The Ontario licence plate is believed to begin with the letters “BW.”

The driver is described as a White male, approximately 19 to 29 years old, with a slim build.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify the driver and owner of the vehicle.
