Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault that occurred at a residence in Cambridge.

On May 17, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., an unknown male entered the garage of a residence in the area of Flockhart Road and Bailey Drive and assaulted the occupant with an edged weapon.

The victim sustained non‑life‑threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The suspect fled the area on foot following the assault. 

The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a stocky build, wearing a black balaclava and black clothing.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
