WRPS Charge Driver after Responding to Collision Involving LRT in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a driver after responding to a collision involving an LRT Train in Waterloo.

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and an ION Light Rail Transit (LRT) vehicle on King Street South at Willis Way. There were no injuries reported. 

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle was charged with Turn Not in Safety.
