Female Charged for Public Mischief and Threats Toward Police in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have laid multiple charges following an incident involving the misuse of emergency services and threats toward officers in Kitchener.

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to the area of Old Chicopee Drive and Holborn Drive following reports of a female claiming she had been assaulted inside a local shopping mall.

Upon investigation, officers determined the allegations to be unfounded.

Despite being advised of the findings, the female continued to make repeated 911 calls with the intent of tying up emergency resources. Officers attended the female’s residence on multiple occasions and warned her that continued misuse of emergency services could result in criminal charges.

During a subsequent police attendance, the female exited her residence armed with two edged weapons and threatened responding officers. She was taken into custody without further incident and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

The female is facing multiple criminal charges, including Public Mischief.

The investigation remains ongoing.
