Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a fatal collision in Woolwich Township.

On May 29, 2026, at approximately 5:50 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of Northfield Drive East and Country Lane.

Through the initial investigation, it was determined that two vehicles, a black Ram and a black Nissan, were involved in a collision at the intersection.

The driver of the Nissan, a 77-year-old male from York Region, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ram, a 44-year-old Guelph male, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit.
