Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Daytime Robbery in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a robbery in Cambridge after an older adult was accosted by a group of suspects armed with a weapon.

On June 7, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police responded to reports of an assault in the area of Preston Parkway.

It was reported that a 78-year-old male was approached by three teenage males, one of whom brandished a weapon, and demanded personal property. When the victim refused, the three males assaulted him. The victim sustained a minor physical injury.

The suspects fled the area on foot prior to police arrival and were last seen heading southbound on Preston Parkway.

The suspects are described as White males, approximately 16 to 18 years old, all wearing t-shirts, with one wearing a red t-shirt.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate.
