Police Arrest Youth in Connection to Robbery at Kitchener Plaza
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a robbery that occurred at a fireworks retailer in Kitchener.
On June 30, 2025, at approximately 7:05 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of a plaza in the area of Ottawa Street South and Fisher-Hallman Road.
Through investigation, officers learned that unknown teenage males entered a container selling fireworks and stole merchandise. When confronted by a store employee, a disturbance occurred and the employee was assaulted.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the parking lot in a vehicle.
There were no physical injuries were reported.
On July 1, 2025, members of the General Investigations Unit arrested one youth in relation to the incident and obtained still images of the other suspects. Later the same day during an operational deployment relating to Canada Day festivities a second 17-year-old male was identified and arrested at Victoria Park in relation to this robbery.
There are still outstanding suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

On June 30, 2025, several unknown teenage males entered a container selling fireworks and stole merchandise. When confronted by a store employee, a disturbance occurred, and the employee was assaulted.
On July 1, 2025, members of WRPS’ General Investigations Unit arrested one youth in connection to the incident.
A 17-year-old male from Kitchener has been charged with attempted theft under $5,000.
The other subjects remain outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing.
