Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a suspected hate-motivated incident in Cambridge.

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 4:10 p.m., police responded to reports of multiple assaults.

Through the investigation, officers learned that an unknown male had confronted two individuals and assaulted them.

The victims sustained minor physical injuries and did not require further medical treatment. 

Officers located and arrested a 36-year-old Kitchener male and have charged him with multiple offences including Assault and Assault with a Weapon.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
