Waterloo Regional Police are investigating two commercial robberies that occurred at restaurants in Kitchener.

On August 10, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at a restaurant in a plaza near Fairway Road South and Wilson Avenue.

On August 12, 2026, at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a second robbery at a restaurant in the area of Fairway Road North and Lackner Boulevard.

Investigators learned that a male suspect entered the restaurants, approached employees, and demanded cash from the registers before fleeing with undisclosed amounts of currency.

In both incidents, the suspect was described as wearing black pants, a black face covering, and goggles. During the August 10 incident, the suspect was wearing a grey hoodie. During the August 12 incident, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie.

There were no reported physical injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit.
