Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection with an assault in Waterloo. 

On August 28, 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m., police responded to reports of an assault at a business on King Street South near Willis Way. 

Through the investigation, it was determined that a security guard had asked the suspect multiple times to leave a business, but the suspect refused to comply. The suspect then assaulted the security guard multiple times before leaving. 

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect nearby.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:

• Assault
• Resist Arrest

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
