Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault that occurred in North Dumfries Township.

On August 30, 2026, at approximately 10:40 a.m., police received a report of an assault involving two suspects.

Through the investigation, officers learned that the victim was assaulted by a male and female who were armed with an edged weapon. 

Investigators have determined that the suspects and victim were known to one another, and that the incident was targeted.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries because of the assault.

A 23-year-old Burlington male and a 42-year-old Burlington female were arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences. 

The accused parties are scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
