WRPS Direct Action Response Team Arrest Two in Cambridge on Multiple Warrants

Waterloo Regional Police have laid additional drug-related charges after a Cambridge investigation.

On December 5, 2024, members of the Direct Action Response Team (DART) completed a search warrant on a motor vehicle that was seized the day before in relation to an investigation. Two investigation resulted in two individuals being arrested in the City of Cambridge for multiple offences.

During the search of the motor vehicle, officers located and seized the following items:

  • 492 grams of suspected cocaine in a vacuum sealed bag
  • 18.5 grams of suspected Oxycodone pills
  • 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • Large amount of Canadian currency
  • Four cellular phones

As a result of this investigation, a 45-year-old male from Cambridge and a 28-year-old male from North York are jointly charged with the following additional offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Oxycodone

Both individuals are remanded in custody.

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two wanted males in Cambridge.

On December 4, 2024, members of the Direct Action Response Team (DART) located two individuals who were wanted on multiple outstanding warrants with the Waterloo Regional Police Service in the area of Shantz Hill Road and Preston Parkway.

A 45-year-old male from Cambridge is being charged with the following offences:

  • Failure to comply with Release Order (five counts)
  • Operation of a conveyance while prohibited (four counts)
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation
  • Mischief over $5000
  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Obstruct peace officer

 A 28-year-old male from North York is being charged with the following offences:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Failure to comply with Release Order (two counts)

Both males are being held for a bail opposition hearing on December 5, 2024.

Members of DART have seized a motor vehicle and multiple cell phones as a result of this investigation.
