UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Regional Police's Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit is continuing to investigate after a stolen vehicle was involved in a collision in Kitchener.

On September 23, 2026, at approximately 5:55 a.m., police received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Autumn Ridge Trail. 

Police attended the scene and through investigation, determined that the vehicle involved in the collision was reported stolen. All occupants of the vehicle had fled the area prior to police arrival.

Due to the nature and severity of the collision, police have concerns for the safety and wellbeing of the vehicle occupants and are seeking to confirm their welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the collision, the identities or whereabouts of the vehicle’s occupants, or who may have video footage from the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact the WRPS's BEAR Unit at 519-570-9777, extension 8434.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run collision in Kitchener.

On September 23, 2026, at approximately 5:55 a.m., police received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Autumn Ridge Trail.

Officers arrived and determined that the vehicle occupants had fled prior to their arrival. Through the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.
