Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male with drug trafficking offences in downtown Kitchener.

On September 29, 2026, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Central Division Crime Suppression and Response (CSAR) Unit officers were on bicycle patrol in the area of Weber Street West and Water Street North. The officers observed a male in possession of suspected fentanyl and arrested him for possession of a controlled substance.

As part of the investigation, officers located and seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, multiple pills, brass knuckles, and approximately $2,000 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Kitchener male was charged with several offences, including:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking (four counts)
• Unauthorized possession of weapon (two counts) 
• Disobeying court order (two counts)

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
