Waterloo Regional Police Lay 15 Charges in Theft from Vehicle Investigation in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a Cambridge female as part of an investigation into thefts from vehicles in Cambridge.
Between September 7 and September 22, 2026, police received seven reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles in the area of Gladstone Avenue and Aberdeen Road South.
In response to the reported incidents, members of the South Division Direct Action Response Team (DART) conducted an investigation and identified a female believed to be involved in four of the incidents.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old Cambridge female has been charged with:
- Attempt theft under $5,000
- Theft under $5,000 (three counts)
- Mischief under $5,000
- Theft of identification documents
- Unauthorized possession of a credit card (three counts)
- Fraud under $5,000 (three counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime (three counts)
The investigation by the Direct Action Response Team remains ongoing.
As part of ongoing crime prevention efforts in the area, officers have also conducted Lock It or Lose It initiatives and provided residents with information on how to help prevent thefts from vehicles.
Residents are encouraged to lock their vehicles, remove valuables from sight, and avoid leaving wallets, identification documents, financial cards, or other valuables inside vehicles.
