Police Arrest Driver for Impaired Driving Following Collision in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a driver for impaired driving after responding to a collision in Waterloo.
On October 7, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Erbsville Road and Bisch Street for reports of a single motor vehicle collision.
Through the investigation, officers determined the lone driver failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed two lanes of traffic, left the roadway, and struck a hydro pole. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the collision.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage, and the driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Dangerous Operation
- Stunt Driving
The collision caused significant damage to a hydro pole, which was broken off. Hydro crews attended the scene for repairs, and the roads remained closed for several hours before reopening.
