WRPS' Robbery Team Investigating after Firearm Brandished by Intruder in Kitchener
UPDATED RELEASE
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a handgun was brandished during a disturbance in Kitchener.
On July 10, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the area of Selkirk Drive and Geneva Crescent.
Through investigation, officers determined that a male suspect entered the residence through an open rear door, brandished a handgun, and was confronted by two males inside the home. A physical altercation ensued, and the suspect used an edged weapon to injure one of the males.
The suspect then fled on foot to a waiting vehicle and left the area.
Police are now looking to identify the vehicle and the occupants inside which was involved in the incident.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 5'6"-5'7", wearing a surgical mask, brown sunglasses, a black hoodie, black pants, and a black backpack.
The victim, a 48-year-old Kitchener male, was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Robbery Team.
