WRPS' Traffic Services Unit Charges Two Drivers with Racing in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have charged two drivers with racing offences in Cambridge.
On November 19, 2024, members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit were on proactive patrol in the area of Pinebush Road and Hespeler Road.
At approximately 1:45 a.m., two vehicles, a black Dodge Challenger and a black Honda Accord, were observed passing an unmarked police vehicle at a high rate of speed. Both cars continued north on Hespeler Boulevard and officers conducted a traffic stop as the vehicles pulled into a gas station on Pinebush Road.
A 24-year-old male and a 22-year-old female from Kitchener were arrested and charged with speeding (104 km/h in a 60 km/ zone) and race motor vehicle.
